• Who promotes India Fashion Incubation Program?

  India Fashion Incubator (IFI) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to support and nurture talented fashion design graduates from reputed fashion schools and entrepreneurs. IFI is promoted by some of the leading experts in the fashion and marketing domain, lead by senior fashion journalist Mr. Vinod Nair (Former Fashion editor of Hindustan Times and Times of India). IFI proposes to create a professional environment to train and launch promising young creative talents so as to make them successfully establish in their respective fashion design businesses. In order to attain this, IFI will bring on board some of the most celebrated names from the fields of Fashion design, Textiles, Technology, Retail, PR, Media, Hair & Makeup, Accessories, Styling, reputed Fashion Weeks and Fashion Bodies and Fashion Institutions from India and abroad as mentors.

• How India Fashion Incubation Program works?

  Six months long structured training, mentoring and project works acquire the participant to acquire the skill sets to setup and move their designer label to the next level. Internship and main project helps the industry exposure and enables the designer to be ready for the market. The program enables the members to attend the sessions through digital platforms and they can also make use of the partnered co-working space setup. Digital sessions are delivered through world-class digital infrastructure so that the member can just attend the session by logging in from a laptop or smartphone from any part of the world. This will enable the participant to join for the program without having to move out of their business bases. However, participants will have to attend special conferences/fashion trade events associated with the program from time to time.
  The program provides a minimum of four hour’s class per month. Fashion industry experts will be handling the mentoring sessions. Sessions also includes master classes, interactions tutorials, etc.

• What are the eligibility criteria?

  Applicants to Incubation Program must hold Indian Citizenship, should aged between 21-35, must have a Degree in Fashion Designing & must have at least one year experience in Fashion Industry/ Fashion Business.

• How to apply for the program?

  Candidates should submit the application form online only. Online Registrations begin on 10th April 2019 and last date to apply online is 10th May 2019. The earlier you apply is better as we will get enough time to review your application.

• Is there an application fee?

  Yes. Application Fee is Rs. 1800/- to accommodate the cost of reviewing & processing your application.

• What is the selection process?

  Selection process include primary screening, an expert panel of juries will make assessment of past works and final decision.

• How many candidates will be accommodated each year?

  To ensure the individual attention only 10 candidates will be accommodated in a program.

• How the program structured

  There will be interactive sessions by the industry experts every week. Along with training modules will be delivered in digital format. Candidates are supposed to attend test before the next session. Every month is associated with mini projects and it is structured in such a way that it applies the necessary skill sets required to succeed in today's world. The program is structured in the following ways.
  · Formal Training & mentoring Sessions – 6 months
  · Main project - 2 Months
  · Internship – 2 Months
  · Final collection Creation – 2 Months
  Each cycle culminates in an event at India Fashion Summit, an annual cerebral fashion platform launched in 2016, at which designers present their collections to an audience comprising fashion’s top decision makers and investors.

• Is the seed funding is assured?

  The straight is answer is No. We have raised commitments from individual investors who can invest in the capacity of 1 Lakh to 25 Lakhs as the early stage seed investments against equity. Though we will do formal introductions, the investors take the final decision. So IFI cannot guarantee on the investments. However, IFI will make sustained efforts to get funding for the top 5 performers in the batch.

• What is the Program fee structure?

  Selected designers will be required to pay a program fee of INR 92,000/- (Actual program fee is 1.64 lakhs and 50% program fee is subsidized) and 5% revenue share for next 5 years.

• Will there be any scholarships or financial support is available to the students?

  IFI program is highly subsidized. However deserving candidates may apply for a full scholarship by raising a request to the leadership team that it will be considered for the scholarship.

• Do I have to pay other fees other than tuition fees?

  The program fee covers the training and mentoring sessions. IFI will not charge any fee other than this, however, fee for registering the company, travelling and accommodation costs for attending the events, internships, projects, material & labor cost for the final collection etc. have to be accommodated by the designer.

  IFI is associating with leading designers and industry stalwarts for the Fashion Acceleration program. IFI hosts India’s largest Fashion discussion and networking platform India Fashion Summit www.indiafashionsummit.com where the top heads of the Indian fashion industry come together to discuss about the future and sustainability of the Indian fashion.

• How are the placement opportunities at IFI?

  This program is not for candidates looking for job, its for the one who is looking to start their own label.

• Why should you join?

  This program is a unique opportunity to get mentored by some of the celebrated names in the fashion industry to whom you may not have direct access. Selected candidates, after the successful completion of their orientation sessions by these experts, will be given opportunities to intern with some of the most successful design and retail establishments in the country. In addition, IFI will also offer the candidates low cost studio spaces, workshops and seminars, exposure to reputed fashion weeks, design studio partnerships, promotional and marketing opportunities and networking opportunities.

• Should I apply again if I am rejected?

  Yes, definitely! There is no downside to applying more than once.
